Safeguarding and Prevent

Official data showed that over 7,500 people were referred to the Prevent programme in 2015/16.

The purpose of this qualification is to support anyone who is responsible for the safeguarding of people and for helping prevent radicalisation. It gives learners an understanding of recognising the signs of abuse, how to reduce the risk of radicalisation and the potential consequences of illegal online activity.

This free course is split into 3 manageable units:

  1. Understanding the Prevent Duty
  2. Understanding Safeguarding
  3. Understanding Online Safety
  • Gain a nationally recognised qualification
  • Improve your skills to help create a long-standing career pathway in your chosen industry
  • Courses are delivered as distance learning, allowing you to choose when and where to study
  • Personal tutors are assigned to ensure you have the support needed to succeed

Fully funded subject to meeting the eligibility criteria:

  • Been in the UK or EU for three years for purposes other than study
  • 19+ at the start of the academic year (19-23-year-olds must have Level 2 prior attainment)
  • Not on an apprenticeship
  • Not completed any part of the course before

 

Excluding the following devolved combined authorities: Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, North Tyne, Bristol/Bath & West Midlands.

Delivered by Learning Curve Group (LCG) – national training and education specialists.

Your government-funded course will take 6-10 weeks to complete.
