Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events

Are you looking to complete some stewarding training?

This qualification aims to provide you with an introduction to the role of a steward at spectator events.

You will develop knowledge and understanding of the key concepts which underpin spectator control, monitoring crowds, controlling spectator movement, communication, teamwork and health and safety.

This free course is split into 8 manageable units:

  1. How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events
  2. How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events
  3. How stewards prepare for spectator events
  4. How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learning
  5. Understand how effective teams work
  6. Health and safety in a work environment
  7. Fire safety principles
  8. Safeguarding children and vulnerable people at spectator events
  • Learn from your own home, in your own time
  • Achieve a nationally recognised level 2 qualification
  • Access to award-winning learning and assessment materials
  • Subject specialist support from a Tutor and access to a Learner Support Advisor for everyday queries

Fully funded subject to meeting the eligibility criteria:

  • Been in the UK or EU for three years for purposes other than study
  • 19+ at the start of the academic year (19-23-year-olds must have Level 2 prior attainment)
  • Not on an apprenticeship
  • Not completed any part of the course before

 

Excluding the following devolved combined authorities: Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, North Tyne, Bristol/Bath & West Midlands.

Delivered by Learning Curve Group (LCG) – national training and education specialists.
